Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and technical design of SASE control-plane services for tenant configuration, policy, routing, lifecycle, and per-tenant usage across regions.
- Define and implement orchestration patterns for configuration, telemetry, and lifecycle management across distributed gateway fleets.
- Design highly available cloud-native systems supporting dynamic gateway scaling, failover, multi-AZ deployment, and multi-region traffic management.
- Evaluate multi-tenancy models including siloed, pooled, containerized, and hybrid approaches across scale, isolation, performance, and cost trade-offs.
- Partner with data-plane teams to define APIs, traffic flows, and policy enforcement for tunnels, routing, roaming, private-network connectivity, and gateway interactions.
- Establish deployment methodologies and engineering standards for infrastructure as code, observability, rollouts, and resilience with DevOps and SRE teams.
- Break architecture into executable roadmaps, write and review code, mentor senior engineers, and influence technical direction across multiple teams.
- Drive platform efficiency and cost-of-goods optimization through architecture, resource utilization, and operational scale improvements.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems in SaaS, networking, or security platform environments.
- 3+ years of experience in a Staff, Principal, or Architect-level role with end-to-end architecture and delivery ownership.
- 5+ years of experience with SASE, SSE, SD-WAN, secure web gateway, cloud firewall, VPN, or ZTNA technologies, including large-scale gateway or concentrator deployments.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience designing or supporting multi-tenant architectures with tenant-aware configuration, telemetry, usage controls, and resource isolation.
- Strong hands-on experience with backend engineering languages such as PHP and Golang.
- 3+ years of experience with private or public cloud platforms such as AWS or OCI.
- Experience with distributed-systems technologies including Kafka, Redis, Cassandra, and the ELK stack or similar platforms.
- 3+ years of production experience with containers, Kubernetes, cloud-native service design, autoscaling, resilience patterns, and multi-region deployments.
- Preferred: 3+ years of experience with data-plane concepts including IPSec, WireGuard, TLS-based tunnels, routing, policy enforcement, and private-network connectivity.
- Preferred: 3+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation, and observability frameworks for distributed systems.
- Ability to mentor senior engineers, influence architecture across multiple teams, and translate technical strategy into executable roadmaps.
