Base Salary
$173k - $259k/yr
Responsibilities
- Guide agentic AI product concepts from business and product problem definition through prototyping, launch, measurement, and iteration.
- Build and deploy production-quality agent systems, analyses, prompts, and supporting services hands-on.
- Define hypotheses, success criteria, tracking, and data-informed product priorities with or without PM support.
- Apply, stress-test, and improve shared AI harness engineering patterns, LLMs, agents, Skills, MCP, evaluation frameworks, and guardrails.
- Raise standards for architecture, code review, testing, observability, evaluations, and incident quality.
- Direct technical and product direction, influence engineering and product decisions, and improve EM and PM effectiveness.
- Lead technical interviews, calibrate AI capability assessment, and mentor senior and staff engineers.
Requirements
- Direct experience creating, deploying, and improving agentic AI systems in real-world production settings, including authored code, testing, prompt and tool changes, cost and latency analysis, failure management, and metrics-based release decisions.
- Over 10 years of full-stack software engineering experience.
- At least 3 years in a Tech Lead, Staff, or Principal role guiding the technical direction of a team or program.
- A product-engineering approach with the ability to turn ideas into monitored, operational software and make product tradeoffs using metrics.
- Deep proficiency in modern JavaScript or TypeScript and at least one of Go, Python, or C#.
- Strong experience with AWS at scale, containerization, GitLab or GitHub CI/CD, PostgreSQL, data modeling, REST, gRPC, GraphQL API development, test automation, observability, and reliability.
- Architectural judgment, strong written and verbal communication, business and product literacy, and effective collaboration.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a comparable field.
- Preferred experience with platform or horizontal services, Product Lifecycle Management, Kubernetes, Akamai, Terraform, infrastructure-as-code, or tri-lead engineering models.
- Foundational knowledge of Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, or tabletop gaming is preferred.
