Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test suites for database-driven applications, APIs, and web interfaces.
- Own test automation activities across the software development lifecycle from requirements analysis through production release.
- Define test approaches covering functional correctness, data integrity, regression risk, and system dependencies.
- Create and maintain UI automation and automated tests for REST APIs and other service interfaces.
- Perform SQL-based database testing covering data quality, transformations, calculations, consistency, and persistence.
- Investigate complex failures across application, API, database, and infrastructure layers and support root-cause analysis.
- Integrate automated tests with version control and continuous-integration workflows.
- Review test code and contribute to coding standards, reusable components, and maintainable automation practices.
- Track and communicate quality risks, test coverage, defects, and release readiness.
- Use AI-assisted tools for test design, test-data creation, code generation, failure analysis, and documentation while reviewing outputs for accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with software engineers, quantitative specialists, product managers, and other stakeholders across locations and cultures.
- Provide technical guidance through peer reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing without formal people-management responsibilities.
Requirements
- 3–6 years of experience in software test automation or automation quality assurance.
- Programming experience with Python or Java and object-oriented programming principles.
- Experience with Selenium, Playwright, web application testing, API testing, integration testing, and request and response validation.
- Experience using SQL and relational databases for data validation, data integrity, and data-transformation testing.
- Experience with Git, branching, pull requests, and code reviews.
- Knowledge of functional, regression, integration, exploratory, and risk-based testing, defect management, and test design.
- Understanding of software and testing lifecycles, requirements analysis, and release validation.
- Experience with root-cause analysis, log analysis, technical problem solving, and defect investigation.
- Ability to independently deliver complex testing work, contribute to test strategy, identify risks, manage stakeholders, and support continuous improvement.
- Strong planning, prioritization, time management, communication, collaboration, critical-thinking, and quality-focused abilities.
- Preferred experience includes BDD and Cucumber, Behave, SpecFlow, or Gherkin.
- Preferred experience includes DevOps concepts, CI/CD, automated quality gates, pipeline integration, Docker, and containerization.
- Preferred qualifications include ISTQB Foundation Level, ISTQB Advanced Level, or test automation certification.
- Preferred experience includes automation framework design and architecture, data-pipeline and ETL testing, large-dataset validation, performance testing, observability, and continuous testing.
- Financial-services, capital-markets, quantitative-analytics, or market-data quality experience is advantageous.
