Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for database-driven applications, APIs, and web interfaces.
- Own test automation activities from requirements analysis through production release.
- Define test approaches covering functional correctness, data integrity, regression risk, and system dependencies.
- Create and maintain UI automation using Selenium, Playwright, or comparable technologies.
- Develop REST API and service-interface tests covering payloads, error handling, authentication, and integration scenarios.
- Perform SQL-based database testing for data quality, transformations, calculations, consistency, and persistence.
- Investigate complex failures across application, API, database, and infrastructure layers and support root-cause analysis.
- Integrate automated tests with version control and continuous integration workflows.
- Review test code and contribute to coding standards, reusable components, test strategy, quality reporting, and release-readiness assessments.
- Use AI-assisted tools responsibly for test design, test-data creation, code generation, failure analysis, and documentation.
- Collaborate with software engineers, quantitative specialists, product managers, and distributed international stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance through peer reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing without formal people-management responsibilities.
Requirements
- 3–6 years of experience in software test automation or automation quality assurance.
- Programming experience with Python or Java and knowledge of object-oriented programming, clean code, and reusable test components.
- Experience with UI automation using Selenium, Playwright, or comparable technologies.
- Experience testing REST APIs, service interfaces, request and response validation, integration scenarios, and negative cases.
- Experience with SQL, relational databases, data validation, data integrity, and data transformation testing.
- Experience with Git, branching, pull requests, and code reviews.
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies, functional, regression, integration, exploratory, and risk-based testing, defect management, SDLC, STLC, requirements analysis, and release validation.
- Experience with root-cause analysis, log analysis, technical problem solving, defect investigation, test strategy, risk identification, stakeholder management, and quality ownership.
- Ability to communicate clearly, prioritize work, manage multiple activities, collaborate across distributed multicultural teams, and support continuous improvement.
- Preferred experience with BDD, Cucumber, Behave, SpecFlow, Gherkin, DevOps concepts, CI/CD, automated quality gates, Docker, and containerization.
- Preferred qualifications include ISTQB Foundation Level, ISTQB Advanced Level, or test automation certification.
- Preferred experience includes automation framework design and architecture, data pipelines, ETL testing, large dataset validation, numerical calculation testing, performance testing, observability, and financial-services or quantitative-analytics domain knowledge.
