Base Salary
$144k - $288k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build high-performance, secure, well-documented APIs for AI-driven applications.
- Develop schemas and manage SQL, NoSQL, vector database, and other data systems for performance and scalability.
- Diagnose and optimize bottlenecks to maintain high availability and low-latency performance at scale.
- Use AWS, Kubernetes, and DevOps practices to build and deploy production-grade systems.
- Collaborate with ML researchers, engineers, scientists, data engineers, and product teams to integrate data pipelines, APIs, and cloud infrastructure into scientific workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of engineering experience building and deploying large-scale backend systems in production.
- Hands-on AWS experience and strong knowledge of Kubernetes, containerization, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with SQLAlchemy, SQLModel, FastAPI, or Django for web services and CRUD services.
- Experience with Airflow, Prefect, Temporal, or Dagster orchestration tools.
- Experience developing full-stack web applications using React, TypeScript, Nx monorepos, Tailwind, FastAPI, SQL or NoSQL systems, Python, and Pydantic.
- Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants is required.
- Strong cross-functional communication, listening, problem-solving, and backend design skills.
- Bonus: familiarity with pandas, NumPy, SciPy, JAX, or PyTorch; laboratory software or life and material sciences; laboratory devices, robotics, or hardware.
