Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of complex backend features, distributed microservices, and asynchronous REST APIs.
- Design event-driven data pipelines, real-time message integrations, serverless functions, and distributed caching strategies.
- Implement retry patterns, circuit breakers, database migrations, and OAuth 2.0, JWT, and RBAC-based authentication and authorization.
- Manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, optimize containerized environments, and establish distributed tracing, metrics, and logging.
- Maintain automated unit, integration, and load-test coverage and drive performance profiling.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, pair programming, technical guidance, and technical initiative leadership.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years with high-level backend languages and 2+ years scaling production distributed systems.
- Strong experience with Python, Go, or Java, asynchronous programming, relational databases, query optimization, partitioning, and distributed key-value caches.
- Deep knowledge of microservices communication, event streaming and message brokers, containerization, and CQRS/event-sourcing concepts.
- Hands-on experience with serverless compute, managed storage, IAM, Infrastructure as Code tools, ORMs, and secure API design.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver mission-critical services, take ownership of technical initiatives, and lead alignment discussions.
- Preferred experience includes cloud-to-legacy database integration, financial services, logistics, fleet management, dynamic pricing, CI/CD optimization, high availability, disaster recovery, Prometheus/Grafana dashboards, and performance profiling tools.
