Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and scale automated tests and tools for embedded automotive software.
- Design, build, bring up, and scale remotely accessible test stations with production-intent hardware and peripherals.
- Create and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functional, non-functional, and regression testing.
- Review requirements for completeness and testability and provide feedback on system architecture.
- Build and expand infrastructure to simulate automotive behaviors and automate tests.
- Derive test scenarios from requirements, use cases, and system design analysis.
- Develop and test alongside software developers, troubleshoot and resolve bugs, and triage nightly regression failures.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability and maintainability.
- Contribute to improvements in testing processes, methodologies, and best practices.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong academic performance in relevant coursework.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Rust, or other relevant embedded software development and verification languages.
- Experience writing automated tests with frameworks such as Pytest, Slash, Robot Framework, or similar.
- Experience debugging embedded systems at the module or system level.
- Experience with software testing tools, frameworks, and methodologies including requirements-driven, unit, integration, system, and automated testing.
- Experience or interest in validating embedded software across network communication, IoT and connectivity, multimedia, Android, UI, or low-voltage power distribution.
- Preferred qualifications include C/C++ proficiency, automotive diagnostic tools, CAN/CAN-FD, Ethernet, MQTT, gRPC, DDS, LIN, DBC, LDF, ARXML, internal IDLs and frameworks, HIL/SIL testing, Linux-based environments, Android or iOS device testing, ISO 26262, sensing and measurement principles, electrical wiring and circuit building, electrical schematics, and CI/CD practices.

- Base salary range of $100,400-$168,000 for salary grade 6.
- Hybrid position; candidates within commuting distance of a Ford hub may be required onsite four or more days per week.
