Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of features and enhancements for the Validus Horizon platform from technical design through deployment and post-release feedback.
- Own multiple concurrent Client Success Team initiatives with clear execution, stakeholder communication, and accountability.
- Design and implement full-stack solutions covering backend services, APIs, databases, frontend components, and data pipelines.
- Build and maintain ETL processes for data ingestion, validation, transformation, reporting, and SFTP/API integrations.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and clients to refine requirements, define acceptance criteria, and quantify business value.
- Contribute to technical scoping, effort estimation, ranking, and prioritization of initiatives.
- Improve performance, reliability, and scalability across Horizon components including RiskView, TradeView, and PortfolioView.
- Mentor team members and promote high standards for code quality, documentation, testing, and delivery.
- Present technical solutions, trade-offs, and implementation roadmaps in stakeholder and client meetings.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong academic background in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Physics, Financial Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Strong experience with Python or a similar backend language used for data processing and financial applications.
- Full-stack development experience across backend services, APIs, databases, and modern frontend frameworks.
- Experience designing and maintaining data pipelines and integrations involving APIs, SFTP, and structured market or portfolio datasets.
- Ability to lead small-to-medium-scale projects with high accountability and ownership.
- Strong interest in financial markets, with exposure to FX and interest-rate products.
- Ability to communicate complex technical and financial concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, prioritization skills, and ability to manage multiple parallel initiatives.
- Preferred qualifications include financial risk-management platform experience, market-data integration, trade lifecycle or portfolio analytics experience, an MSc in a STEM field, knowledge of risk modeling, pricing, or financial analytics, and client-facing or consultative technology experience.
