Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and debug system and IP validation frameworks for bare-metal and lightweight-RTOS environments.
  • Support global core teams in validating Qualcomm Snapdragon SoCs and understanding new SoC architecture and design features.
  • Interface with design, design verification, software, and IP validation teams to debug complex issues and enable infrastructure on emulation and post-silicon environments.
  • Develop new framework test flows for ATE and MBIST testing in high-volume production-screening processes.
  • Optimize low-level code, resolve linker issues, and support hardware/software bring-up and validation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, science, engineering, or a related field; master's or PhD may qualify with fewer years of experience.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on silicon validation and embedded software development experience is stated in the mandatory requirements; the minimum qualifications also specify 4+ years with a bachelor's, 3+ with a master's, or 2+ with a PhD.
  • Proficiency in C/C++, familiarity with assembly, and experience with VHDL/Verilog and scripting languages such as Python or Perl.
  • Knowledge of ARMv8, ARMv9, x86, and RISC-V architectures, interrupt handling, cache and I/O coherency, SMP or heterogeneous cores, memory ordering, barriers, and SoC architecture.
  • Experience with compilers, Makefiles, linkers, scatter files, code optimization, boot-loader development, JTAG interfaces, and hardware debug tools.
  • Understanding of operating systems, RTOS or Linux kernel internals, multithreading, scheduling, locking, virtual memory, and MMU concepts is desired.
  • Experience with FPGA or emulation bring-up, fresh SoC designs, Jenkins automation, regression testing, and comprehensive software test suites is desired.
  • Familiarity with mobile or server architectures, including CPUs, GPUs, DDR, NoCs, and peripherals, plus systematic low-level hardware/software root-cause debugging.
  • Ability to use laboratory equipment such as logic analyzers and oscilloscopes, and kernel debuggers such as Lauterbach Trace32.
  • Good written and spoken communication skills.
