Base Salary
$121k - $243k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design enhancements, updates, and programming changes for networking system software, operating systems, networking components, and security functions.
- Develop and maintain network interfaces, protocols, security functions, and underlying SoC SDKs or drivers for high-performance and high-scalability systems.
- Analyze requirements, define coding and integration activities, and contribute to architectural reviews.
- Execute and contribute to test plans, verification protocols, documentation, debugging, and software improvements.
- Collaborate with hardware, QA, system test, and customer-facing teams to deliver robust software solutions.
- Investigate complex field issues through log-driven debugging, system-level analysis, and cross-layer collaboration.
- Support sustaining engineering through maintenance and enhancement of existing features.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Information Systems.
- 5–8 years of experience in networking, embedded systems, or high-performance security platforms.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python.
- Experience with switches, routers, security systems, multi-core embedded platforms, network interfaces, protocol handling, and security processing.
- Strong understanding of operating-system internals, virtualization, computer architecture, system-level debugging, Unix/Linux environments, and hardware-software integration.
- Preferred experience with Link Layer protocols such as LACP, LLDP, and EAPOL.
- Preferred experience with Broadcom and/or Marvell SDKs for switching or network-interface subsystems.
- Preferred experience with AI coding-assistance tools such as Copilot and intelligent debugging, or knowledge of AI/ML techniques for predicting software or hardware errors.
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies, test-plan execution, and debugging tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, collaboration ability, mentoring capability, and ability to present design proposals and negotiate design decisions.
