Base Salary
$253k - $316k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and drive technical strategy and architecture for Ridgeline’s shared AI platform.
- Lead technical decisions that enable scalable, reliable, secure, and responsible use of AI capabilities across engineering teams.
- Identify systemic platform obstacles and migrate one-off AI solutions onto shared platform capabilities.
- Establish engineering, reliability, and AI model evaluation standards for production systems.
- Partner with Engineering, Product, Data, and other functions to align AI platform investments with company priorities and customer outcomes.
- Architect retrieval-augmented generation integrations with external data stores and build token-efficient systems such as model routing and code execution.
- Evaluate new AI features and resolve technical debates across teams.
- Directly contribute to the development and delivery of agentic AI product capabilities.
Requirements
- 15+ years of software engineering experience and deep systems architecture expertise.
- Significant experience building and shipping AI-powered products in production, including agentic loop design, structured responses, tool calling, Model Context Protocol, and retrieval-augmented generation.
- Experience designing scalable and efficient system architectures and selecting technologies for AI system components.
- Experience establishing software development best practices and reliability and evaluation standards for production AI models.
- Full-stack AI product development experience with proficiency in Kotlin, TypeScript, and React.
- Experience working with Anthropic and/or OpenAI models and APIs.
- Track record of driving technical or architectural decisions and aligning stakeholders across teams.
- Experience integrating third-party data sources and improving AI model performance and token efficiency in production.
- Bonus: experience with multi-agent systems, AI agent orchestration, or advanced model evaluation techniques.
- Bonus: background in financial services or investment management.
- Bonus: contributions to open-source AI/ML projects or publications in the field.

- Typical starting base salary is $253,000-$316,000, with an alternate $278,000-$347,500 range in select locations including the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City Metro Area.
