Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain SAI/SONiC SDKs for open networking hardware.
- Define abstraction layers and map hardware capabilities to standardized SAI APIs.
- Enable performant control-plane stacks through dataplane programming and control-plane integration.
- Collaborate with hardware and software engineers on SDK integration and performance.
- Participate in requirements gathering, development, deployment, maintenance, and other stages of the software development lifecycle.
- Create automated tests and tools to verify SDK and control-plane quality and functionality.
- Debug and resolve complex software issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or ECE with 5–10 years of experience, or a master’s degree in CS or ECE with 6+ years of experience.
- Proficiency in C, C++, and/or Python.
- Familiarity with embedded software development and debugging.
- Deep understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including BGP, TCP/IP, and Ethernet.
- Experience working on datapath ASIC pipeline SDKs.
- Hands-on experience developing and maintaining SDKs, preferably for hardware products.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
