Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure platform infrastructure.
- Develop CI/CD automation pipelines and infrastructure provisioning tools using GoCD, Harness, and Terraform.
- Write tested Python code for automation, tooling, and service development.
- Manage and optimize PostgreSQL, Redshift, Redis, and other relational or in-memory databases.
- Administer and tune EKS and ECS container orchestration platforms.
- Implement and manage serverless platform functionality using AWS Lambda.
- Collaborate with development teams to align infrastructure with application requirements and best practices.
- Define and enforce platform security practices supporting HIPAA, FISMA, SOC 2, and FedRAMP standards.
- Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions for scalability and reliability.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and provide incident response and operational support.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Develop internal Python tooling and automation scripts and use SQL for operational workflows.
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability practices for highly available SaaS services.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Site Reliability Engineer.
- Deep expertise with AWS infrastructure and services including EC2, Lambda, ECS, EKS, RDS, S3, VPC, CloudWatch, SQS, SNS, IAM, and Kinesis.
- Excellent proficiency with Terraform, Python, SQL, and automation tooling.
- Extensive experience with Docker and container orchestration, including Kubernetes and EKS.
- Hands-on experience with SQL, PostgreSQL or other database administration, and performance tuning.
- Experience with CI/CD systems such as GoCD, GitHub Actions, and Harness.
- Experience automating observability and monitoring with Grafana, Kibana, and Prometheus, including incident response for alerts and maintaining SLAs and SLOs.
- Experience working in environments compliant with FISMA, SOC 2, and/or FedRAMP.
- Background building highly scalable, performant SaaS platforms.
- Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and cross-functional teamwork skills.
- Experience supporting 24/7 production on-call rotations and resolving incidents outside standard business hours.
