Responsibilities
- Validate software, firmware, and hardware for embedded systems across functionality and performance.
- Set up and operate test environments using software and hardware tools, laboratory instrumentation, and simulators.
- Define acceptance criteria and test cases with development teams.
- Develop automated test sequences using Python, NodeJS, and test automation tools.
- Execute manual and automated test cases, analyze results, and document findings.
- Provide usability feedback, trace results to quality risks, and report findings to stakeholders.
- Assist with troubleshooting system problems.
- Drive standardized testing processes and continuous quality improvements in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a STEM major.
- Minimum 5–8 years of technical experience testing and/or developing embedded systems products.
- Strong hands-on testing, debugging, performance testing, and test management experience.
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, arbitrary function generators, and multimeters.
- Programming experience with Python or NodeJS.
- Experience with circuits, microcontrollers, and embedded systems.
- Experience with test infrastructure such as LabView, National Instruments, and PXI.
- Exposure to Cygwin, Wireshark, UISpy, XML, and XMLRPC.
- Understanding of Ethernet, IP, TCP, UDP, HTTP, MQTT, and gRPC network protocols.
- Familiarity with industrial protocols such as Modbus.
- Ability to understand the software development lifecycle and the product’s business approach.
