Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate Redis/Valkey, Memcached, Elasticsearch, and observability systems on Kubernetes for reliability, performance, and cost efficiency at scale.
- Develop Kubernetes operators, automation, command-line interfaces, and self-service tooling to replace manual operations.
- Own observability capabilities including metrics collection, long-term storage, alerting, and dashboards.
- Lead capacity planning, upgrades, and migrations for large stateful systems with minimal customer impact.
- Partner with engineering teams on data modeling, access patterns, query performance, and monitoring.
- Investigate complex production issues, implement durable fixes, contribute to on-call, improve runbooks, and document technical designs.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or SRE with a strong record of writing production code.
- Hands-on experience running stateful, distributed systems in production at scale.
- Strong working knowledge of Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.
- Proficiency in at least one general-purpose language such as Go, Python, or Ruby.
- Systems-oriented debugging, problem-solving, collaboration, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred: experience with Redis/Valkey, Elasticsearch, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Thanos, Grafana, Datadog, Kafka, streaming systems, developer-facing tooling, or Kubernetes operators.
