Responsibilities
- Translate business requirements into technical infrastructure implementations with functional delivery teams.
- Make changes to critical physical infrastructure supporting the bank.
- Design and build infrastructure patterns and frameworks for other engineering teams.
- Introduce automation to reduce unnecessary operational toil.
- Own projects and ensure timely delivery.
- Diagnose system and network failures under pressure.
- Build and support infrastructure across physical data centres, AWS, and GCP cloud estates.
- Create and improve infrastructure services and tooling, primarily in Golang.
- Work with Security and Developer Experience teams and keep current with industry technology changes.
Requirements
- Strong background in data centre network topologies, BGP routing, and VRF configuration for secure traffic isolation.
- Experience working with firewalls and Linux administration.
- Experience or awareness of Infrastructure as Code and infrastructure provisioning tools.
- Knowledge of system architecture and design.
- Experience with modern development practices and Python, Golang, or Bash scripting.
- Experience building and maintaining containers.
- Desirable knowledge of core cloud services, Kubernetes, compliant environments such as PCI-DSS, and maintainable infrastructure services and tooling.
- Ability to work across teams, take ownership, and support critical systems under pressure.
