Base Salary
$144k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate scalable batch and streaming data pipelines for large volumes of supply-chain data.
- Own data modeling, data warehousing, curated datasets, feature engineering pipelines, and feature stores for analytics and ML workloads.
- Partner with Applied and Research Scientists on training data preparation, feature delivery, ML workflows, and model-scoring pipelines.
- Lead design reviews and make technical trade-offs involving performance, cost, scalability, and operational complexity.
- Own data quality, lineage, observability, monitoring, and reliability improvements across production datasets and services.
- Deliver tested, production-quality software and promote code reviews, CI/CD, and operational excellence.
- Diagnose and resolve complex production and data issues, participate in on-call, and reduce operational load through automation.
- Mentor SDE I and early-career engineers and influence the technical roadmap for the data platform.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience building complex software systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Strong Python proficiency and experience with SQL at scale.
- Experience building and owning batch and streaming data pipelines in production.
- Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Hive, Presto, or similar distributed computing frameworks.
- Experience building data models and ETL/ELT pipelines for analytics, reporting, and ML workloads.
- Experience collaborating with science or ML teams to move models from prototype to production.
- Experience with data quality, validation, or observability practices for production datasets.
- Experience using AI coding assistants or agentic development tools such as Amazon Q Developer, Copilot, Kiro, or similar tools.
- Solid software engineering fundamentals, including testing, CI/CD, code review, and production operations.
- Preferred experience deploying ML models to production and designing large-scale data architectures such as data lakes, data warehouses, or lakehouse patterns.
- Preferred experience with MLOps tooling, streaming systems, orchestration tools, infrastructure-as-code, data lineage and cataloging, metrics and reporting infrastructure, prompt engineering, LLM APIs, and ML evaluation frameworks.
- Experience partnering cross-team with software engineers to ship ML-integrated services or systems is preferred.
- Background in supply-chain, logistics, fulfillment, or operational environments is preferred.
