Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable distributed solutions that improve Red Hat engineers’ productivity and efficiency.
- Build and maintain testing infrastructure, CI tooling, and OpenShift cluster operations supporting hundreds of repositories and thousands of clusters.
- Engage with open-source communities to establish goals and implement shared-project features.
- Collaborate with engineers to identify productivity and efficiency gaps addressed by tooling.
- Maintain development, staging, and production environments, including monitoring and alerting systems.
- Investigate, communicate, and troubleshoot escalated engineering issues.
- Participate in an on-call rotation supporting multiple systems during working hours.
- Perform code reviews and mentor and lead other engineers in building services.
Requirements
- An engineering degree or higher, or equivalent education or experience, in computer science or a related field.
- Five or more years of software development experience.
- Proficiency with object-oriented and functional programming languages.
- Knowledge of Git, GitHub, JIRA, Red Hat OpenShift, Go, and Prow.
- Familiarity with cloud-native system design and development and experience with AI-driven software development.
- Solid experience with Linux, cloud computing using AWS and GCP, distributed systems, high availability, and build tools.
- Good written and verbal communication skills for collaboration in a distributed team.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, CI/CD pipeline and infrastructure, and Continuous Integration processes.
