Responsibilities
- Design and implement AWS cloud network architectures, including VPCs, subnets, routing, Transit Gateways, Route 53, Direct Connect, VPNs, IPAM, DNS, NACLs, and security groups.
- Develop hybrid-cloud connectivity, high-availability, disaster-recovery, multi-tenant isolation, security, and microservices integration solutions.
- Create and maintain architectural diagrams, standard operating procedures, operational documentation, and runbooks.
- Develop infrastructure as code with Terraform and implement GitOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
- Automate operational tasks with shell scripting and manage platform backup and recovery procedures.
- Design monitoring, alerting, and dashboard solutions using Prometheus and DataDog.
- Lead troubleshooting of complex platform and network issues, cloud network security incidents, and participate in an on-call rotation.
- Optimize platform performance, network availability, and resource utilization across environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field.
- At least six years of experience in a Platforms Engineer or Site Reliability Engineering role using AWS.
- Advanced knowledge of AWS networking, including VPCs, subnets, routing, Transit Gateways, Route 53, Direct Connect, VPNs, IPAM, DNS, NACLs, and security groups.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Git, Terraform, Jenkins, infrastructure automation, and CI/CD practices.
- Strong system design, security, performance optimization, and network troubleshooting skills.
- AWS Advanced Networking - Specialty certification is preferred.
- Experience with code reviews, operational documentation, monitoring, and platform reliability practices.
