Responsibilities
- Develop secure, multi-tenant, cloud-native storage solutions with high performance, automatic failover, and zero downtime.
- Implement and operate production-ready applications in Rust, including on-call support.
- Diagnose test failures and performance regressions and implement fixes.
- Lead development and project management for large, cross-team initiatives.
- Identify, design, implement, test, and support Storage Layer Services features while contributing to operational excellence.
- Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering leadership on product roadmaps.
- Review code and designs and mentor new engineers.
Requirements
- At least five years of experience programming, debugging, and performance tuning distributed or highly concurrent software systems.
- Strong systems fundamentals, including multithreaded programming and performance profiling.
- Experience with distributed systems and multi-tenant cloud services.
- Experience building, deploying, and operating cloud services with a focus on operational excellence.
- Familiarity with database internals or core components of data processing systems.
- Hands-on experience developing performance-sensitive software.
- Experience with large backend or compiled codebases, preferably in Rust or C/C++.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong verbal and written technical communication, collaboration, time management, and project-complexity assessment skills.
- Interest in high-availability systems; hands-on experience or a master's or PhD in the domain is a plus.
