Base Salary
$117k - $184k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, refactor, and scale backend implementations of consumer product features.
- Provide technical leadership, set technical direction, shape system architecture, and lead projects end-to-end.
- Design and build resilient APIs with the mobile team.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and cross-functional teams to solve member problems.
- Improve the reliability, scalability, and technical standards of engineering systems.
- Mentor engineers and participate in an on-call rotation, including potential incident response outside regular working hours.
Requirements
- 3+ years of software development experience in a production environment at scale.
- Experience with Ruby on Rails or comparable frameworks.
- Experience working with transactional databases and caching systems.
- Exposure to architectural patterns for large-scale web applications.
- Commitment to maintainable and well-tested code.
- Desire to learn and understand systems deeply.
- Startup experience is a plus.
