Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, test, and evaluate secure software and cloud infrastructure.
- Understand business requirements, architecture, and technology direction while evaluating alternative technical approaches.
- Build scalable, resilient, secure, and usable production software and services.
- Design and consume APIs, define service boundaries, manage distributed failure modes, and support asynchronous or message-driven processing.
- Operate containerized services in a public cloud environment and support production observability, alerting, and incident triage.
- Deliver automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing through established delivery workflows.
- Take ambiguous problems through design, implementation, and release while decomposing work for others and raising team engineering standards.
- Participate in production support and a rotating on-call schedule, including support outside regular business hours.
- Collaborate with engineers and non-technical stakeholders and contribute to iterative delivery.
- Mentor engineers or interns and participate in hiring and interview loops.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 4 years of related experience; alternatively, a master’s degree and 2 years, a Ph.D. and 1 year, or 12 years of related experience without a degree.
- Professional experience designing, building, and maintaining production software in a modern object-oriented language such as C#, Java, Kotlin, Go, TypeScript, Python, or C++.
- Strong command of object-oriented design fundamentals, including encapsulation, composition, interface design, SOLID, dependency injection, and design patterns.
- Experience with microservice or service-oriented architectures, HTTP/REST or equivalent APIs, relational databases, asynchronous processing, public cloud environments, containerized workloads, testing, Git workflows, production support, and observability.
- Track record of senior-level technical ownership, clear written and verbal communication, and experience working in an Agile or iterative delivery model.
- Preferred qualifications include C# and .NET experience, React and TypeScript frontend experience, PostgreSQL or MySQL, Redis, AWS, infrastructure as code, Docker, distributed-system patterns, performance and scalability work, feature flags, progressive delivery, static analysis, security scanning, legacy modernization, vendor API integrations, multi-tenant SaaS, relevant domain experience, resiliency practices, and mentoring or hiring experience.
- Candidates must be local to Atlanta, Georgia, or willing to relocate to the Atlanta area.
- Employment requires passing a pre-employment drug test.
