Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and platform systems.
- Write Terraform modules, deployment scripts, automation, and tooling to eliminate manual work.
- Troubleshoot and resolve scalability, availability, and performance issues in live systems.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with integrated automated testing.
- Implement monitoring, dashboards, alerting, and log aggregation and act on operational signals.
- Partner hands-on with application developers to make deployments seamless.
- Set technical direction for DevOps and drive adoption through working systems.
- Mentor engineers, review work, unblock teammates, and provide hands-on technical guidance.
- Help shape team structure and priorities and coordinate across engineering and with customers.
- Evaluate and roll out tools, technologies, and processes in production systems.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on DevOps engineering experience with personally built and shipped systems.
- Experience leading or mentoring engineers or owning the technical direction of a team or major project.
- Deep production expertise with AWS EKS, GitLab CI/CD, and Terraform.
- Extensive hands-on AWS experience with Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch, ECS, Kinesis, and Kafka.
- Command-line proficiency with Bash and Python and the ability to write automation and tooling.
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture, Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, and infrastructure-as-code methodology.
- Experience architecting and scaling infrastructure across multiple cloud platforms.
- Working knowledge of Elasticsearch and log aggregation.
- Ability to document technical work and communicate decisions to engineers and customers.
- Ability to take ambiguous problems through to working, shipped solutions while bringing a team along.
