Responsibilities

  • Modernize legacy VB6, Synon, RPG, RPGLE, CLP, and IBM i/AS400 applications into modern Microsoft solutions.
  • Use Generative AI, GitHub Copilot, Azure OpenAI, and AI-assisted tools for code analysis, conversion, testing, documentation, and deployment.
  • Design migration strategies and reusable frameworks for enterprise-scale application modernization.
  • Develop applications using C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, .NET MAUI, and Azure services.
  • Design API-first architectures and service-based integrations while delivering secure, scalable solutions.
  • Lead AI-driven modernization proofs of concept and pilots.
  • Establish engineering standards and governance for AI-assisted application development.
  • Mentor development teams on modernization methods, AI tools, and Microsoft platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of software development experience.
  • At least 5 years of VB6 application development and maintenance experience.
  • Experience modernizing legacy applications to Microsoft technologies and delivering large-scale modernization or migration programs.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted software development tools and Generative AI technologies.
  • Experience with enterprise business-critical applications and complex integrations.
  • Preferred qualifications include VB6 conversion to .NET MAUI or WinUI, Synon/RPG/RPGLE/AS400 modernization, Azure modernization programs, enterprise architecture, application rationalization, technical debt reduction, and Microsoft Azure certifications.
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or enterprise ERP environments is preferred.
