Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable full-stack applications in a secure, high-performance environment.
- Write clean, maintainable code across front-end and back-end technologies.
- Integrate applications with APIs, databases, and third-party systems.
- Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and developers to translate requirements into technical user stories and solutions.
- Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs with appropriate versioning, backward compatibility, and documentation.
- Work with large-scale global systems, datasets, and databases, including ETL pipelines for data warehouses.
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and other development activities.
- Contribute to development processes, tools, system architectures, documentation, and application resiliency.
Requirements
- Engineering degree, preferably in computer science or information technology.
- 5+ years of experience building distributed systems using agile practices.
- Strong working knowledge of core Java and Spring frameworks, including Spring Boot and testing.
- Experience owning and delivering end-to-end software development involving back-end systems and/or data engineering pipelines.
- Expertise designing, developing, and maintaining robust APIs.
- Strong understanding of high-volume database management and scaling; experience with Sybase or KDB+ is preferred.
- Understanding of microservice architecture, design patterns, resiliency, scalability, security, observability, and secure coding practices.
- Experience working in regulated environments, preferably financial services.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps tools.
- Understanding of financial markets, electronic trading, large datasets, ETL pipelines, q, SQL, and databases such as Microsoft SQL Server is beneficial.
- Familiarity with Python or C++ and strong oral and written communication skills.
