Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute test strategies, plans, and cases across UI, API, backend, device, and performance testing.
- Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, designers, and cross-functional teams to define test coverage and quality goals.
- Build, maintain, and scale automation frameworks for UI, API, service-level, and end-to-end testing.
- Design testing infrastructure for automated service validation and backend quality assurance.
- Develop reusable test utilities, APIs, and libraries.
- Maintain and enhance Python- and Selenium-based automation frameworks.
- Partner with infrastructure teams to design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines and quality gates.
- Analyze test results, identify defect root causes, and coordinate timely resolution.
- Support release readiness by validating features, assessing quality risks, and providing recommendations.
- Promote shift-left testing and improve quality engineering standards, tools, and processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of software testing experience, including designing and executing test plans and test cases.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience building and maintaining automated tests for web, mobile, APIs, and/or backend services.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or JavaScript, with Python preferred.
- Strong experience testing REST APIs and service-oriented architectures, including API validation, integration testing, and contract testing.
- Experience with contract testing frameworks such as Pact or similar consumer-driven solutions.
- Familiarity with gRPC services, Protocol Buffers, and service-to-service testing methodologies.
- Experience with Selenium and/or Appium.
- Experience with API testing tools and frameworks such as Postman, REST Assured, GraphQL, and gRPC.
- Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, and Docker.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle, CI/CD practices, and test methodologies.
- Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Preferred experience with non-PC devices such as phones, game consoles, or set-top boxes.
- Preferred experience with React Native, event-driven architectures, messaging systems, Testcontainers, mocking frameworks, service virtualization, microservices, distributed system testing, and performance, load, or scalability testing.
