Base Salary
$144k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain innovative software solutions for service performance, durability, cost, and security.
- Write high-quality distributed system software and develop automation for large-scale network platforms.
- Work with network, systems, and software engineering teams to roll out designs and products and support networking software tools.
- Use data to measure service success, prevent faults, and improve customer impact.
- Document processes and procedures and contribute to team knowledge sharing and mentoring.
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation and help resolve critical incidents and their root causes.
- Travel to data center and network sites and Amazon or customer offices as needed.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- At least 1 year of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
- At least 1 year of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- At least 1 year of Object-Oriented Design experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- Preferred: at least 3 years of full software development life-cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
