Base Salary
$143k - $216k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, code, test, debug, document, deploy, and maintain backend software components and microservices.
- Design scalable distributed systems and database solutions, maintain stored procedures, and optimize database queries.
- Set up and administer Kafka clusters, brokers, topics, and partitions while monitoring message queue health and performance.
- Develop and integrate APIs using RESTful architecture and GraphQL subgraphs.
- Investigate software defects and production issues through log analysis and root cause analysis, then implement fixes.
- Improve system performance, scalability, reliability, data flow, and system stability.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, designers, and engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Participate in sprint planning and document software designs, technical specifications, development processes, and system architecture.
Requirements
- Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and one year of software engineering or related experience, or a bachelor's degree or equivalent and three years of such experience.
- Experience with Java, Spring, Hibernate, and Apache frameworks.
- Experience designing and architecting large-scale distributed systems for scalability, availability, and performance.
- Experience with database concepts, SQL and NoSQL databases, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience administering Kafka clusters and managing Kafka topics and partitions.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure Blob Storage, Cosmos DB, Kubernetes, and Jenkins.
- Experience designing and implementing APIs, RESTful architecture, API integration, and GraphQL subgraph integration.
- Experience troubleshooting complex software issues and working through the software development lifecycle.
- Experience with unit testing frameworks, test-driven development, production test coverage, and maintainable code.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment using JIRA.
- Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, and MMS Monitoring for monitoring and observability.
- Experience creating technical documentation, including design specifications, user guides, and system architecture diagrams.
