Responsibilities
- Define test strategies and detailed test plans for routing services.
- Design, develop, and execute functional tests for BGP, FRRouting, and GoBGP.
- Validate EVPN, BGP Route Reflection, and IP routing and switching technologies.
- Create and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks with Python and Pytest.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
- Conduct performance, stress, scalability, and traffic-generation testing.
- Analyze routing convergence, diagnose protocol bugs, and identify root causes of system-wide failures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- Expertise in network validation, QA automation, or systems testing.
- Practical knowledge of computer science, engineering, or related fields.
- Expertise in L2/L3 networking, TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, and routing-stack configuration, debugging, and testing.
- Expertise in BGP protocols, attributes, state machines, scaling techniques, and advanced Python automation using Pytest and libraries.
- Experience with high-scale traffic-generation tools such as Spirent, Keysight/Ixia, Cisco TRex, or Xena Networks.
- Experience using Docker to containerize routing daemons and create multi-container network topologies and virtualized network test environments.
