Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, and implement complex software applications using Java and scalable distributed-system expertise.
- Design and develop software products and solutions meeting functionality, performance, availability, scalability, and reliability requirements.
- Implement advanced indexing techniques and improve search engine performance.
- Develop Java microservices using Spring Boot, Node.js, and REST or GraphQL APIs.
- Monitor and maintain batch and real-time indexer pipelines.
- Develop robust, low-latency code with high test coverage in a continuous integration and delivery environment.
- Lead engineering design and code reviews, triage and debug production issues, and roll out system changes affecting multifunctional teams.
- Develop automated tests and monitor production systems.
- Mentor junior team members and uphold software quality standards.
Requirements
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the offered job or a related occupation.
- Alternatively, bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the offered job or a related occupation.
- Two years of experience implementing advanced indexing techniques and improving search engine performance using Elasticsearch.
- Two years of experience designing and developing microservices with Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, and REST or GraphQL APIs.
- Two years of experience with big data processing and scalable distributed systems such as Kafka and Memcache.
- Two years of experience with object-oriented programming languages such as Java or Python.
- Two years of experience with Docker and Kubernetes containerization and orchestration.
- Two years of experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, automated testing with JUnit and Mockito, and production monitoring with Splunk or Grafana.
- Two years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
Benefits
- Base compensation may be supplemented by a target bonus, restricted stock units, medical and financial benefits, 401(k) eligibility, PTO, and parental leave.
- The role is based in San Jose, California, with partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
- The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Employees are hired in an at-will position.
