Software Engineer II, Earnings
Toast, Inc.Responsibilities
- Build and scale tip and earnings calculation systems for Tips Manager and future earnings products.
- Develop, run, monitor, troubleshoot, and improve backend services and event-driven infrastructure.
- Participate in design, estimation, implementation, testing, debugging, deployment, and code reviews.
- Deliver accurate, reliable calculations that affect restaurant employee pay and product revenue.
- Partner with product and design to shape product requirements and technical solutions.
Requirements
- Experience with one or more object-oriented programming languages, such as Java, Kotlin, or similar.
- Strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to learn quickly and solve real-world problems.
- Commitment to precision and correctness in systems that calculate employee earnings.
- Ability and motivation to monitor, troubleshoot, and improve system performance using logging and metrics.
- Interest in building reliable, scalable calculation systems.
Benefits
- Base salary range of $100,000—$147,000 CAD, plus eligible cash compensation, equity, and benefits.
