Base Salary
$100k - $147k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and scale tip and earnings calculation systems, beginning with Tips Manager and expanding toward a broader earnings source of truth.
- Build, run, monitor, troubleshoot, and improve core backend services and system performance.
- Participate in design, estimation, implementation, testing, debugging, deployment, and code reviews.
- Develop event-driven systems for tip pooling, wage calculation, and earnings retrieval.
- Partner with product and design to influence product direction and implementation.
Requirements
- Experience with one or more object-oriented programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, or similar.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and the ability to learn quickly and solve practical problems.
- Appreciation for precision and correctness in systems that affect employee paychecks.
- Ability and willingness to monitor, troubleshoot, and improve system performance using logging and metrics.
- Motivation to work on challenging problems where correctness and scale are both important.
