Responsibilities
- Analyze existing mainframe applications and architectures to identify business needs, impacts, dependencies, risks, and solution options.
- Translate requirements into technical designs, specifications, solution recommendations, and implementation approaches.
- Lead end-to-end solution design activities aligned with internal policies, security requirements, and standards.
- Conduct technical investigations, root cause analysis, and research of legacy host applications for modernization and enhancement efforts.
- Guide development teams during implementation, review technical solutions, and remain hands-on with system analysis and research.
- Support API integration between distributed and host systems.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and knowledge transfer within development Pods.
- Participate in effort estimation, impact assessments, and delivery planning.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree, postgraduate degree, or technical certificate in computer engineering.
- At least 7 years of experience with mainframe technologies, including COBOL, IMS, DB2, z/OS, and Endevor.
- At least 7 years of experience in application design, systems analysis, and end-to-end solution development and deployment.
- Strong expertise in IMS and DB2 database technologies and experience with large-scale enterprise application architecture and technical design.
- Hands-on experience with mainframe development tools, frameworks, and host ecosystem technologies.
- Experience researching complex host applications, analyzing legacy systems, and documenting technical recommendations.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, investigative, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring, and knowledge transfer within development Pods.
- Experience integrating distributed applications with host systems.
- Preferred experience includes Java, REST APIs, Oracle, SQL Server, Event Hub, Kafka, Azure, Datadog, Autosys, and banking projects.

- Base salary range of $81,600-$115,200 CAD.
