Software Engineer II
Guidewire SoftwareResponsibilities
- Design and implement high-quality software for Guidewire’s property and casualty insurance products.
- Build, refactor, and extend cloud services and microservices using AI-assisted coding approaches.
- Design and develop REST or gRPC APIs and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure services.
- Apply thorough testing, observability, code-quality, and operational-excellence practices.
- Collaborate in a lean, empowered, cross-functional team and communicate technical ideas effectively.
- Use data-driven insights and AI patterns to improve productivity, customer experience, and product capabilities.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of software development experience, preferably with SaaS or cloud solutions.
- Proficiency in Core Java and working knowledge of the Spring framework.
- Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python.
- Experience building microservices on cloud service platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, with AWS preferred.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience designing REST or gRPC-based APIs.
- Ability to use AI-assisted coding tools while maintaining strong judgment around code quality, testing, and security.
- Understanding of object-oriented design principles and relational database persistence.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases, TeamCity, Git-based workflows, CI/CD, and DevOps principles is a plus.
- Experience with LLMs, LangChain, RAG, ReAct, prompt engineering, or integrating AI services into production systems is a plus.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Strong collaboration, communication, curiosity, self-motivation, and ability to learn quickly.

- Canadian CAD base salary range of 87,000.00–109,000.00.
