Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, document, and support complex application components, APIs, integrations, and data flows for data catalog services.
- Translate technical and business requirements into solution designs, implementation choices, estimates, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Develop cloud-ready components using scalable, observable, resilient, and secure deployment patterns.
- Conduct code reviews, automated testing, dependency checks, operational readiness reviews, and technical quality assessments.
- Monitor applications, support incidents, resolve production issues, and address performance or data-integrity concerns.
- Use approved AI-assisted development tools for coding, refactoring, testing, and documentation while validating outputs and documenting relevant prompts or artifacts.
- Contribute reusable engineering patterns, documentation, knowledge sharing, team mentoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering fundamentals across backend services, APIs, data modeling, testing, and operational support.
- Experience developing secure and maintainable software in Python and modern languages or frameworks, preferably TypeScript and Node.js.
- Practical knowledge of cloud platforms, cloud-native application patterns, infrastructure-as-code concepts, containerized services, observability, and secure deployment practices.
- Working knowledge of automated testing, dependency management, observability, incident support, and CI/CD-based deployment models.
- Ability to explain technical decisions, risks, and trade-offs to engineers and stakeholders.
- Experience or education equivalent to an undergraduate degree, postgraduate degree, or technical certificate; a strong academic background in computer science or engineering is preferred.
- Three to five-plus years of relevant experience.
- Preferred experience with data management, data governance, metadata platforms, data catalog services, Collibra or comparable platforms, Pandas, Azure, AWS, managed services, containerized workloads, secure API integrations, or LLM-assisted engineering workflows.

- Base salary range of CAD 81,600 to CAD 115,200, excluded from benefits summary because compensation figures are reported separately.
