Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements and conduct system research to identify solution components and resolve problems.
- Design, develop, maintain, and support applications using established technology architecture and coding standards.
- Perform unit, component, and integration testing, participate in code reviews, and maintain defect-free code.
- Support enhancements, break/fix implementations, testing cycles, post-production deployments, and application maintenance.
- Collaborate with business analysts, systems analysts, developers, solution designers, technology partners, and project managers.
- Perform systems administration, application configuration, backup, authentication, tuning, performance monitoring, and state-of-health monitoring.
- Provide technical expertise during incident management, analyze outages, assess impact, and facilitate communications through resolution.
- Contribute to project scope, risk and cost analysis, estimates, timelines, status updates, and technology delivery processes.
- Identify development and testing tools and process improvements that improve productivity and operational efficiency.
- Act as a subject matter expert and senior or lead developer while coaching and guiding team members.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree or technical certificate.
- 5–7 years of relevant experience.
- Advanced knowledge of technology, tools, programming languages, processes, and procedures, with extensive knowledge of business and enterprise technology areas.
- Ability to work independently as a senior or lead developer, provide coaching and guidance, and act as a subject matter expert and consultant for partner teams.
- Expertise in web application design and development with Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience with Angular, Node.js, Tomcat, JBoss, web services, SOAP, JAX-WS, JAXB2, JAX-RS, and Web API.
- Experience with Agile delivery practices, particularly Scrum, and related tools such as Confluence and JIRA.
- Experience with continuous integration and delivery tooling including Maven, Nexus, and Jenkins.
- Experience with Git, Stash, Bitbucket, and relational database management systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2.
- Cloud technology experience with Azure or AWS is considered an asset.
- Experience integrating vendor products and working with third-party external companies is considered an asset.
- Strong communication, documentation, independent prioritization, problem-solving, relationship-building, and knowledge-transfer skills.
