Responsibilities
- Stand up microservice environments and manage application deployments using AWS, Docker, GitLab, and internal deployment tools.
- Design, build, and own application data layers with PostgreSQL, Prisma ORM, and Snowflake, including schema migrations, query optimization, and data integrity.
- Develop and maintain full-stack applications using Next.js, TypeScript, React, Python, and Streamlit.
- Own pilot applications through development, continuous integration and delivery, deployment, stabilization, and user support.
- Integrate large language model APIs and use AI coding tools to accelerate development.
- Evaluate, refactor, and productionize AI-assisted prototypes created by non-technical collaborators.
- Work with Operations, IT, Data Engineering, project sponsors, and internal users to gather requirements and iterate on solutions.
- Troubleshoot issues and respond to bug reports from a large internal employee user base.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5–8 years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency with TypeScript, Next.js, React, Python, and full-stack web development, including Streamlit.
- Strong SQL skills and hands-on PostgreSQL experience for relational data modeling and query design.
- Experience with AWS, Docker, and GitLab deployment pipelines.
- Experience building production integrations with large language model APIs such as Anthropic Claude and/or OpenAI, including prompt design, structured output, and asynchronous job patterns.
- Experience writing and maintaining automated tests with frameworks such as Vitest and Playwright.
- Strong ownership, communication, stakeholder collaboration, adaptability, and ability to work independently.
- Prisma ORM, Snowflake or other cloud data warehouses, Pulumi, and prior experience in research, data, enterprise SaaS, internal tooling, pilot, innovation lab, or startup environments are preferred or advantageous.
