Responsibilities
- Design, build, maintain, and troubleshoot software features and infrastructure.
- Ensure software and services are highly available, scalable, secure, and performant.
- Monitor and evaluate platforms, identify issues, and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with platform and services teams to resolve complex problems.
- Automate routine tasks and support production systems through on-call rotations.
- Write software design and operational support documentation.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers and contribute to engineering team development.
Requirements
- 4 to 5+ years of experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with one or more programming languages, including Golang, and willingness to learn additional technologies.
- Professional software development experience and ability to build complex systems end-to-end for production.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle practices, coding standards, code reviews, source control, continuous deployment, testing, and operations.
- Experience building and scaling Amazon Web Services infrastructure using infrastructure as code.
- Understanding of cloud infrastructure services including identity platforms, networking, storage, databases, containers, and serverless technologies.
- Experience troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems and supporting production systems in on-call environments.
- Knowledge of relational, graph, document, and key-value databases, data modeling, database design, and SQL.
- Understanding of security, privacy, monitoring, logging, alarming, and secure development best practices.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, independence, adaptability, and stakeholder-engagement skills.
- Passion for mentoring and coaching engineers in technical and soft skills.
