Responsibilities
- Lead, plan, and drive large, complex, and potentially high-risk engineering projects across multiple teams or systems.
- Design, develop, and implement scalable, efficient, and robust software solutions and systems.
- Define technical strategy and roadmaps for critical domains or the organization’s technology infrastructure.
- Drive coding standards, best practices, code reviews, engineering quality, architectural guidance, and operational excellence.
- Mentor and coach senior and mid-level engineers, developers, and ML engineers.
- Coordinate technical efforts across squads, departments, and stakeholders including Product Managers and Engineering Managers.
- Contribute to company-wide software and systems engineering standards and cultivate a strong engineering culture.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software development experience, including initial experience at a product company such as a SaaS, fintech, or marketplace business.
- High proficiency in Java or Kotlin and comfort with complex backend architecture, APIs, and data models.
- Prior experience working on AI topics for internal productivity or products.
- Strong technical leadership, ownership, problem-solving, communication, and mentoring abilities.
- Product mindset with the ability to understand business priorities and own delivery end to end.
- Excellent written and spoken English; French is a valuable bonus.
