Responsibilities
- Design and implement highly available, scalable services that process millions of transactions.
- Own critical systems end to end from architecture through delivery.
- Define technical strategy and provide architectural guidance across the team.
- Mentor engineers and raise engineering quality through code reviews and operational best practices.
- Partner with product, business, and partner teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Identify customer problems and independently deliver solutions impacting AWS Marketplace growth.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of experience designing or architecting new and existing distributed systems, including reliability and scaling.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, or TypeScript.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: 3+ years covering the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in computer science, experience with AWS services, and experience delivering large-scale customer-facing systems.
- Preferred: Experience with commerce, marketplace, or SaaS platforms and the ability to communicate and influence without authority.
