Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Architecture and Network Engineering to develop platform architecture.
- Develop a Dockerized API proxy built on the Kong API Gateway using Lua best practices.
- Extend, refine, and manage AWS infrastructure with CloudFormation, including ECS, Docker containers, ElastiCache, DynamoDB, VPC, and Route 53.
- Define platform performance needs and design, execute, and report performance testing.
- Define CloudWatch logs and alarms, troubleshoot issues, and resolve problems within the release cadence.
- Integrate third-party products with CloudWatch and manage IAM permissions according to least-privilege principles.
- Provide API contract guidance and implement routing for microservices across teams.
- Develop and refine Jenkins CI/CD pipelines for deployment, acceptance testing, and environment-health monitoring.
- Collaborate with cross-geographic teams and with TS, TAM, and NOC teams to address queries and concerns.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 4 years of software development experience.
- Experience with one or more of Lua, Kong, or Golang.
- Experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting RESTful APIs.
- Experience developing services, clients, and multithreaded software.
- Experience with DynamoDB and observability dashboards or tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, and Mimir.
- Working knowledge of unit testing, test automation, user stories, use cases, object-oriented software design, and design patterns.
- Preferred experience includes AWS technologies such as VPN, Route 53 DNS, VPC, ALB, multi-region, and multi-area deployments.
- AWS Developer or AWS Architect certification, nginx or reverse-proxy experience, microservice architecture knowledge, Swagger familiarity, authentication methods, and CI/CD experience are preferred.
- Preferred additional experience includes technical or team leadership, telecommunications or call centers, Jira, automation and testing tools, agile development processes, agentic AI platforms such as Claude and Copilot, and maintaining highly resilient services.
