Base Salary
$200k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Improve the performance and resilience of scalable backend systems across product teams.
- Implement observability practices using OpenTelemetry, logging, and standard SLOs.
- Own the design and follow-up process for incident response.
- Mentor teams on secure coding practices and resilient, performant code.
- Use automated testing practices to support high-quality code.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership, product managers, and cross-functional teams on shared infrastructure solutions.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience building scalable backend services at a B2B financial services, fintech, or SaaS organization.
- Proficiency with Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs.
- Expertise in microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with Postgres or MySQL.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
- Understanding of performant and reliable systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science or Software Engineering is preferred, while equivalent experience and understanding are valued.
- Preferred experience includes AI best practices, AWS cloud infrastructure, tabletop exercises, GitLab pipelines, Terraform, Debezium, Temporal, OpenTelemetry, and brokerage or financial-services platforms.
