Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain platforms, plugins, and extensions for third-party pipeline packages.
- Collaborate with supervisors, technical directors, and production teams to identify bottlenecks and develop scalable productivity improvements.
- Automate processes and data flow between departments to streamline production workflows.
- Assist with packaging and deployment of pipeline tools.
- Write end-user and developer documentation for developed tools.
- Train and support end users.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Visualization, VFX, or a related area.
- 5+ years of experience as a Senior Pipeline Engineer, Software Engineer, or similar role in a VFX, animation, or relevant development environment.
- Expert proficiency in Python; experience with C++ or JavaScript is a plus.
- Strong understanding of Git, testing, CI/CD, Docker or Podman, and scalable system design.
- Hands-on experience with DCC applications such as Nuke, Houdini, Maya, and Unreal, including scripting or expression languages such as VEX and TCL.
- Familiarity with Autodesk Flow Production Tracking, ftrack, asset management systems, render-farm management, review tools, and automation scripting.
- Experience with standard UI/UX toolkits and Linux-based environments.
- Experience with Rez, Alembic, OpenColorIO, USD, ASWF standards, web frameworks, database systems, performance profiling, monitoring, observability, network protocols, security practices, or compliance requirements is preferred.
