Responsibilities
- Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems while owning reliability, performance, and availability.
- Deliver projects from ideation and requirements gathering through implementation, customer release, and operations.
- Develop new features, evaluate results, and iteratively improve the product.
- Participate in on-call rotations and take ownership of operated services.
- Contribute to open-source projects and collaborate on design discussions.
- Mentor and support team members while working effectively in a remote environment.
- Influence the roadmap and pursue career-development objectives.
Requirements
- Solid experience with at least one programming language, with Go used by the team and Python, C, C++, or Rust considered transferable.
- Experience delivering projects from requirements gathering and brainstorming through shipping products to customers.
- Experience developing software that runs in the cloud or experience with systems engineering.
- Experience writing clean, robust, performant, and maintainable software.
- Strong self-direction, customer focus, pragmatic problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Preferred experience includes low-level database, storage-layer, or query-engine development.
- Preferred experience includes Kubernetes, Grafana or Prometheus operational use, distributed systems, and microservices.
- Familiarity with on-call work, operations/SRE tasks, or infrastructure as code is advantageous.
