Base Salary
$166k - $264k/yr
Responsibilities
- Implement high-level application software, interaction workflows, business logic, robotic behavioral state machines, and task orchestration.
- Translate speech, gestures, environmental cues, and context into deterministic robotic tasks.
- Integrate vision pipelines, object detection, scene understanding, spatial tracking, and voice interactions.
- Develop voice applications using speech-to-text, natural language understanding, dialog management, wake-word detection, and text-to-speech interfaces.
- Build agentic AI workflows combining LLMs, VLMs, memory systems, tool calling, reasoning engines, and robotic capabilities.
- Consume and orchestrate robotics platform services for navigation, manipulation, perception, and device control.
- Optimize software across resource-constrained edge hardware and cloud AI services.
- Integrate robots with mobile devices, smart-home ecosystems, enterprise applications, and cloud APIs.
- Build telemetry, logging, evaluation, monitoring, and feedback mechanisms supporting continuous model improvement.
- Contribute to automated testing, observability, CI/CD, containerized deployment, and production readiness.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience using Python and/or C++.
- Strong proficiency with BehaviorTree.CPP, state machines, workflow orchestration engines, or task-planning architectures.
- Hands-on experience building applications with LLMs, VLMs, tool-calling architectures, agent frameworks, RAG systems, or semantic memory platforms.
- Experience designing scalable application-layer software, API-driven systems, distributed services, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience optimizing software for resource-constrained edge hardware and intermittent connectivity.
- Experience integrating cloud AI services, model-serving platforms, and containerized deployments.
- Experience with automated testing, debugging, monitoring, observability, and CI/CD practices.
- Experience designing natural, context-aware human-machine experiences.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, robotics, software engineering, AI, or a related discipline.
- Preferred experience includes Cerence, Whisper, Deepgram, Azure Speech, ElevenLabs, AWS Speech Services, STT/TTS/NLU platforms, ROS2, object detection, scene understanding, visual grounding, spatial reasoning, beamforming, acoustic echo cancellation, microphone arrays, noise suppression, humanoid or service robots, telemetry and retraining pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, OTA updates, and edge deployment environments.
