Responsibilities
- Design and validate AI and machine learning models against real operational conditions.
- Analyze model errors, explain model behavior, and document failure modes before deployment.
- Monitor deployed models for drift and degraded performance before they affect operational outcomes.
- Prepare documentation and evidence for federal security and accreditation reviews.
- Advise engineering teams and program leadership on AI approaches, deployment requirements, and model limitations.
- Establish reusable standards for evaluating and deploying AI capabilities.
- Assess cyber risk and functionality of AI solutions and incorporate automation and AI into cyber programs.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in ML, data science, or AI engineering.
- 2+ years focused on Generative AI and LLMs.
- Deep expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and statistical modeling.
- Hands-on experience with LLM frameworks, vector databases, and prompt engineering.
- Advanced Python proficiency and production-grade software development experience.
- Experience with MLOps and cloud AI platforms including Azure AI, AWS Bedrock, and Google Vertex AI.
- Proven experience taking AI solutions from proof of concept to production.
- Experience assessing cyber risk and AI solution functionality.
- Experience with data analytics software such as Splunk, Cribl, Elastic, and Sentinel.
- Ability to work across the model lifecycle, including data, training, validation, deployment, and monitoring.
- Experience in regulated or federal environments where model decisions must be explainable and defensible.
- Preferred qualifications include open-source contributions or published AI research, edge or low-latency model optimization, AI Ethics or Responsible AI certifications, Cloud AI Architecture certifications, and familiarity with adversarial AI testing and red-teaming.
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility, ability to obtain and maintain a CBP Background Investigation and EOD, and U.S. citizenship are required.
