Base Salary
$230k - $270k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive architectural decisions across the Go, Python, and TypeScript stack.
- Build full-stack features end-to-end, from backend services and APIs through frontend product experiences.
- Drive tracing, monitoring, and evaluation workflows at scale, with emphasis on reliability and query performance across high-volume data.
- Shape the product roadmap in partnership with product and design.
- Set engineering standards, define patterns, lead code reviews, and establish technical foundations.
- Mentor and grow engineers through code reviews, design feedback, pairing, and ongoing technical guidance.
- Drive projects from ambiguity to delivery while maintaining high engineering standards and aggressive timelines.
- Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement durable fixes.
- Ensure system reliability through testing, monitoring, and alerting.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including system design documents and API references.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional experience in backend or full-stack engineering on highly complex production systems.
- Strong programming skills in backend technologies such as Python and/or Go and frontend technologies such as TypeScript and React.
- Experience owning architectural decisions involving data systems, APIs, and service reliability.
- Experience with high-throughput or mission-critical systems and optimizing for performance and reliability.
- Experience taking systems from prototype to production and operating them reliably at scale.
- Demonstrated track record of mentoring engineers and raising the technical quality of a team.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering leadership.
- Customer-centricity, ownership mentality, and alignment with LangChain’s operating principles.
- Experience with Postgres, Redis, ClickHouse, AWS, GCP, or Azure is preferred.
- Familiarity with observability tooling, evaluation frameworks, or AI/LLM infrastructure is preferred.
