Software Engineer | Private Cloud Systems
SingleStoreResponsibilities
- Design and develop major infrastructure components and systems with a focus on fault tolerance and performance.
- Own systems end-to-end from design through production.
- Collaborate with peers by leading, partnering, or following across different projects.
- Work with other teams to integrate and operate infrastructure systems successfully.
- Drive continuous improvement in system reliability and usability.
- Support fact-driven decision-making and an environment of learning from mistakes.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience developing and optimizing systems software.
- Deep expertise in at least one of virtualization, storage, service modeling and REST API/SDK generation, scientific or high-performance computing, or kernel development.
- Experience designing, developing, and/or troubleshooting distributed systems.
- Comfort with at least one systems programming language: C/C++ or Golang.
- Comfort with at least one scripting language: Python or Bash.
- Comfort with shells on Unix-family systems.
- B.S. degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field.
- Natural curiosity or drive to learn about new or adjacent technologies.
- Preferred experience with low-level monitoring and profiling, such as pcm, perf, or bpf.
- Preferred experience with or hobbyist interest in distributed elastic AI/LLM CPU inference, such as OpenVINO or llama.cpp.
- Preferred familiarity with or interest in SingleStore or other distributed SQL databases.
