Base Salary
$203k - $275k/yr
Responsibilities
- Improve the performance and resilience of scalable backend systems across product teams.
- Implement observability practices using OpenTelemetry, logging, and standard SLOs.
- Own the design and follow-up processes for incident response.
- Mentor teams on secure coding practices and resilient, performant software design.
- Promote automated testing practices and contribute to shared infrastructure solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership, product managers, and cross-functional teams on technical problems.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience building scalable backend services at a B2B financial services, fintech, or SaaS organization.
- Proficiency with Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs.
- Expertise in microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, including Postgres and MySQL.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
- A relevant bachelor’s degree is ideally preferred, with equivalent experience and understanding also valued.
- Preferred qualifications include expertise with Claude and AI best practices, AWS cloud infrastructure, tabletop exercises, GitLab CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, Debezium, Temporal, OpenTelemetry, brokerage platforms, and financial services.
