Base Salary
$203k - $275k/yr
Responsibilities
- Improve the performance and resilience of robust backend systems and shared infrastructure across product teams.
- Mentor engineering teams on secure coding practices and building performant, resilient services.
- Implement observability practices using OpenTelemetry, logging, and standard SLOs.
- Own the design and follow-up processes for incident response.
- Use automated testing practices to support high-quality code.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership, product managers, and cross-functional teams on technical solutions.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience building scalable backend services at a B2B financial services, fintech, or SaaS organization.
- Proficiency with Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs.
- Expertise in microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
- Understanding of performant and reliable systems.
- A relevant B.A. or B.S. degree is preferred, but experience and understanding are also emphasized.
- Preferred experience includes AI best practices with Claude, AWS cloud infrastructure, tabletop exercises, GitLab CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, Debezium, Temporal, OpenTelemetry, brokerage platforms, and financial services.
