Base Salary
$600k - $1066k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the developer experience for AIMS ML practitioners across development environments, build and test infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and experimentation tools.
- Design, build, and operate scalable distributed build, testing, developer platform, and self-service systems.
- Identify developer workflow friction, instrument productivity metrics, and prioritize tooling investments based on measurable impact.
- Partner with ML researchers and engineers to ship adopted tools, provide migration support, and drive cross-team adoption.
- Set technical standards through design reviews and architectural guidance while mentoring or leading engineers.
- Evaluate and productionize GenAI-powered developer tooling with appropriate safety guardrails.
Requirements
- Significant experience building and operating developer productivity infrastructure, build systems, CI/CD, developer environments, or internal platforms at scale.
- Experience leading or mentoring engineers as a manager or technical lead while remaining hands-on.
- Deep proficiency in Python and working proficiency in a JVM language such as Scala or Java.
- Hands-on experience with distributed build systems such as Bazel, Buck, or Pants and distributed data or compute frameworks such as Spark or Beam.
- Experience with parallel and distributed computing and operating systems at large scale.
- Experience diagnosing developer friction directly and delivering tooling that measurably improves engineering workflows.
- Ability to drive cross-team technical programs and adoption without formal authority.
- Preferred experience includes ML developer tooling, GenAI developer tooling products, open-source tooling contributions, compiler or language tooling, static analysis, build optimization, high-performance computing, or large-scale batch processing.
