Responsibilities
- Build and operate the cloud infrastructure powering mission-critical aviation systems.
- Develop and improve core infrastructure using infrastructure as code and Kubernetes-based systems.
- Contribute to deployment pipelines that enable fast and safe production releases.
- Improve system reliability, performance, uptime, and observability in a 24/7 environment.
- Partner with backend, product, and platform engineers to deploy services and resolve production issues.
- Debug operational problems, scale distributed systems, strengthen resilience, and build automation that reduces operational toil.
- Contribute to design reviews and architectural decisions.
Requirements
- Strong experience building and operating production-grade cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with AWS or other cloud providers such as GCP or Azure.
- Proficiency with Kubernetes and containerized environments.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Helm.
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for reliable, frequent production releases.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and scalability.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
- Familiarity with testing, rollout strategies, rollback mechanisms, and other production safety practices.
- Experience operating and supporting 24/7 production systems.
- Ability to contribute to design reviews and architectural decisions.
- Exposure to regulated cloud environments such as FedRAMP and progressive deployment techniques such as canary releases is a plus.
- Exposure to high-availability systems and four-nines reliability is a strong plus.
- Proficiency in leveraging modern LLM tools to accelerate development workflows and enhance code quality.
- Ability to obtain required authorizations for work involving export-controlled technology and restricted U.S. Government data.
