Responsibilities
- Build reusable payment capabilities supporting multiple products, payment providers, payment methods, and regions.
- Develop payment orchestration and provider integrations with clear system boundaries.
- Build foundations for customer onboarding, know-your-business verification, entity management, risk, and compliance.
- Strengthen reconciliation, dispute handling, and internal ledger capabilities for accurate and traceable financial events.
- Support bill payments and incoming and outgoing money flows with reliability, security, and observability.
- Own backend engineering problems from implementation through testing, deployment, observability, and ongoing service operation.
- Make pragmatic architectural decisions and collaborate with engineering, product, and operational partners.
- Apply AI and automation to reduce manual effort while maintaining appropriate controls and human oversight.
Requirements
- Strong backend software engineering experience and a track record of building and operating reliable production services.
- Understanding of distributed systems, service boundaries, consistency, resilience, and failure handling.
- Practical experience with transactional data where correctness, integrity, and traceability are essential.
- Ability to solve ambiguous problems, make architectural trade-offs, and improve or replace existing systems appropriately.
- Ownership of automated testing, deployment, observability, and ongoing service operations.
- Clear communication and effective collaboration across engineering, product, and operational teams.
- Interest in using AI tools for engineering productivity and exploring controlled automation.
- Experience in payments, financial systems, or other accuracy- and auditability-critical environments is valuable but not required.
